Dr. Janey Powe received her DVM in 2006 from Kansas State University. Dr Powe has spent the majority of her career in a mixed animal practice. She and her husband moved to Lubbock to be closer to their cattle herd and his parents in Paducah, Texas. Dr. Powe prides herself on excellent customer service, quality medicine, and providing the best experience possible to every client needing emergency services for their pets. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with her two boys and working with their cattle herd.
Dr. Paul Stonum was born and raised in rural West Central Missouri. He received his BS in Animal Science at Texas Tech University in 1989. He then received his DVM from the University of Missouri – Columbia in 1994. After graduation, Dr Stonum spent 10 years as a mixed animal associate veterinarian in central Texas before starting his own mixed animal practice in Northwest Missouri in 2003. Dr. Stonum then started as the clinical veterinarian at Texas Tech University in 2013. Paul is married to Kathy and they have 2 children. When Dr. Stonum isn’t at the Emergency Clinic or TTU you can find him working in his shop on his latest woodworking project.
Dr. Samantha Thomas was born and raised in Lubbock, Tx. She graduated from Monterey High School and received her bachelor’s degree in Animal Science from Texas Tech University. After obtaining her DVM from Texas A&M University, she returned to her roots in West Texas. She has practiced in the area in different capacities for the past 9 years. She enjoys the fast paced nature and unpredictability of emergency medicine. When she is not at the EC, Dr. Thomas works for PETS Clinic of Lubbock, and is pursuing her own daytime practice. Dr. Thomas is married to Jeremiah, and they have two beautiful daughters. In her rare free time, she enjoys the outdoors, cooking, writing, home improvement, and spending time with her girls.
Crystal Newman Windsor, DVM grew up on a horse training and breeding operation in Northwest Iowa. She attended Iowa State University for her undergraduate and veterinary education and graduated with her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 1998. Dr. Windsor then practiced exclusively large animal medicine for nine years in Northeast Oklahoma before moving to Texas in 2007. She also spent time as an instructor in the Veterinary Technician Program at Tulsa Community College. She then practiced mixed animal medicine for six years before transitioning to only small animals in 2012. Dr. Windsor strives to provide excellent client communication and education while providing the best possible care for her patients.
Dr. Windsor is married to her husband Dave Windsor from Queensland, Australia and they currently live in White Deer, Texas. They have three children, eleven horses, three dogs, and one barn cat. Dr. Windsor enjoys riding horses and team roping, as well as, mentoring children and young adults.

Dr. Kodi Manders is a lifelong West Texan. In 2019, she graduated from Texas Tech University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Science. From there, she pursued her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine at Oklahoma State University. After graduation, she made her way back home. Dr. Manders is married to her best friend, and they have many fur babies. In her free time, she enjoys supporting her husband in his music adventures, loving on her babies, and gathering with friends and family.
